Vidor Pirate Intermediate Football Academy, Inc. was created by a group of people who want to provide the kids of Vidor and their parents a superior football / cheerleading experience. VPIFA is a well-managed, highly organized football league. We strive to provide programs that kids will benefit from, parents will actively participate in, and all will be proud of.
VPIFA is based upon four guiding principles: Conventus…team work, Optime…be the best one can be, Incito…motivation, Ars…character.
We are Vidor Pirates!! VPIFA's football and cheerleading programs are aligned with that of the VISD athletic department. Our purpose is to prepare kids for entry into VISD athletics and that they are able to perform at the highest level. Our methods, style, and philosophy of teaching football and cheerleading cater to the future success of Vidor's athletic programs. We have three primary responsibilities: teaching, motivating, and being good role models. We will teach them the game. We will motivate them in such a way that they want to continue playing the game. And we will be good role models in order to show them good sportsmanship.
Our future Pirates are exposed to a fantastic football environment and are engulfed in "Pirate Pride". They will have lots of fun as they learn the X's and O's of the gridiron. We build self-esteem through positive motivation techniques while exposing the kids to a rigorous, disciplined program. We use the sports experience to help young people learn life lessons and positive character traits that will help them be successful throughout their lives.
Our youth football league is also unique in that we merge athletics with academics. We abide by the "no pass - no play" rule. Our student athletes are taught the importance of making good grades in addition to being good athletes.
VPIFA will compete as a member of Southeast Texas Junior Football League (www.stjfl.net) against teams from Nederland, Pt. Neches, Pt. Arthur, Lumberton, WOS, Little Cypress, Bridge City, Orangefield, Jasper, Colmesneil and Beaumont. We will certainly put our best foot forward to win as many games as we can. However, it is more important to VPIFA to produce winning players. Winning players may never actually win a football game, but they are winners in life. Winning the game is just a bonus.
